Last meeting’s topic was “past, present and future.” We talked about some vampires’ ability to work with time on the astral plane, looking into past lives, premonitions of the future, remote viewing in the present, etc. We discussed different concepts of time from quantum physics and mysticism, déjà vu, and roamed quite freely around (and sometimes off) the subject!
In the last couple of months, a number of new members have joined our group, asking questions about how one knows one is a vampire, how does someone become a vampire, etc. We covered this topic last summer, in the June and July meetings discussing “Awakening and Turning” parts 1 and 2. The podcasts of these meetings are archived at talkshoe.com for those who would like to listen to them.
However, since this next meet up is our one year anniversary (Yayyy!!) and since it is close to Imbolc, traditionally a time for rededication to one’s Wiccan or Pagan path and for initiation, I thought we could touch on the topic again. “Being and Becoming” will deal with the process of Awakening to being a vampire (physical symptoms, emotional signs, the stirring of latent psychic gifts, etc.) and also with whether or not it is possible to be “Turned” into a vampire if you are not already.
To do something a little different from our previous discussions on the topic, I would like to bring up the possibility of genetic differences in vampires, refer to the chapters in Belanger’s “Vampire Codex” on Awakening, Turning, and the Beacon (recognizing other vampires), bring a list of books for further research, and otherwise kick around the topic of whether it’s even possible for someone to be “Turned” (a subject of hot debate in the vampire community).

As our meet up matures, we want to continue to reach out to more like minded people in our area who need some networking and social acceptance, and who want the opportunity to learn and to teach. Our members have mentioned being rather insulated because of family issues, or the underwhelming enthusiasm of at least one local Wiccan group for vampires, or social drama online. We’ve been teaching specific topics and gotten some good discussions going, and want that to continue. We’re here to be an educational resource and support network, and the more talented people we get who are willing to share their experiences, the better that resource will be for all our members and for the larger community. There is a lot of creative cross-pollination going on, and I want us to continue to create a space and network that encourages productive, creative interaction, personal growth, and community cooperation to make great things happen!

How do you know for sure that vampires exsist? i’m not doubting your beliefs but i’m very intrested in what your answer to my question would be. I have been searching many sites about this question that I’m asking you and they all believe but they have no evidence. I’ve looked at all the symptoms of being a vampire and i seem to have them all but whether or not I should believe it. I believe that vampires do exsist because anything is possible but I don’t want to believe that I am…. according to all the sites I have been to a vampire when it may not be true. Do you think that any human really knows the answer wether or not vampires do exsist? If you can explain to me and maybe give me just a little proof as to vampires do exsist please tell me because I think that I am one with pretty much all of the symptoms of it being true. Please help me!

I know they exist because I have many friends who come to the vampire meet up who are vampires. Some are sanguine (needing blood), many are psy (needing energy). One has such a severe reaction to the sun that he has to wear sunblock at night if the moon is bright, and has lost his eyesight because the sun completely destroyed his eyes and they had to be removed (he wears prosthetics now).
Your question about proof, as well as how to approach your symptoms, would fit in well with the discussion we are going to be having at our next meet up, where we’ll be talking about Awakening (realizing that you are a vampire) as well as Turning (whether it’s possible to become a vampire if you are not already). Is there any chance you can call in to the Talkshoe conference on that Friday? (2/6/09 at 7:15 pm Eastern). Then you can ask questions at length from everyone there, including the people I mentioned above. The call in details and a link to the meet up should be in a previous post here, a couple of posts back. If you have trouble finding it email me at viviennedavalon@gmail.com and I will send the site urls and call-in information to you. There are also archives of our previous meet up discussions at the talkshoe site you might find helpful.
I’ll make sure to call your post to the attention of my fellow NUP board members and meet up co-organizers, Mordred and Amethyst. (I think they will also be able to make it to the meet up on that Friday, so you can talk to them over the phone in real time if you want).

depending on what classification you classify yourself as would be a bit of a determining factor . I can only give you what I know from my own experience you see I am the one mentioned that is or has lost his eyes due to sunlight. My name is Dokter my awakening started when I was just around six years of age. was quite literally thinking that something was wrong with me because when it came about, I hunted and searched through my grandmothers refrigerator and cabinets for something to drink because everything just did not do it when my grandmother came in and saw me on the floor with all sorts of bottles and containers opened and some missing but not all even the normally good cold water in the glass orange juice container just did not do it for me. My grandmother I guess instantly knew what was wrong and put me at the table where she then started cooking something when she was done she put two plates on the table in front fo me. The fully cooked meat was okay, but the smell sort of repelled me more than attracting me. but when I smelled the what looked like it was cooked meat it was only slightly browned on the outside but still quite bloody everywhere else. I tasted some of teh juice (blood) on the plate and that was a great taste! so I took an experimental bite and it was the first time I ate a whole steak by myself and mostly raw. it helped kill off the aching dry feeling in my throat at that time from that day / evening on I was educated as to what a Sanguinarian is/was and even learned to feed on psi/pranic energies too but my preference is straight blood. but if you would like to discuss things further you can reach me at my email of dokter.traemorluna@gmail.com later sincerely, Dokter T. I am kind of in the same boat as Brittany…I have read quite a few sites and I have a vast majority of them as well…Minor things like how I dress and the fact that I can touch a computer or micorwave without it blowing up in my face I totally ignored…But things like insane sickness some of which goes unexplained, sun sensitivity even to the point where I feel sick or feel like Im being drained, strong sexual nature, feeing alone even in a group, odd sense of being drawn to vampires since I’ve been a kid, etc etc are all there…Like all the big tell-tale signs are there…I just really dont know what to do about it or how to channel it or whatever…I have literaly drained people of energy and had no idea what the hell I did…Having sex is like a marathon for me and most of the time when my partner is completely spent Im still jazzed up and can keep going…I like blood but not to the point of drinking it…I dont mind going down on my girl if she is on her period or sucking/licking a cut or something but beyond that nah…I believe if Im a vampire Im definitely Psy…or Psy with very minor Sang tendencies…Thats why I joined so I can find out more about myself and other vampires who know they are…So yes I believe they exist…
